TRANSPORT

At the beginning of the project, in 2012, the Pilgrim Team used a very old truck to take people and equipment out to the resource village - Kalilanama. Jastin is in the truck loading it up.

In 2014, a retired Royal Mail truck was purchased in England by Growing Communities- Zambia and shipped out to Zambia via Warvis Bay in Namibia. Jastin collected it from the Namibian border.

It is used to transport produce and members of the community to local markets, and for carrying everything that is needed to and from the project.

As the back can be secured, there is no danger of theft.

In the early days, with the tailgate the only firm platform available, it was used as a mobile health clinic. Here, in 2015, members of the local community have come for basic health checks .
